Endurance

Catalina Challenge with Jodie and Jen for Japan from Soul Surf Media on Vimeo.

I'd like to be better at endurance. These are gutsy inspiring girls paddling with a purpose. Catalina Crossing is a stretch of open water between the mainland of SoCal and Catalina Island. Tom Blake impressively and controversly won a paddleboat race over 26 miles (45kms) of this crossing in 1932. Apparently Blake did not really consider it a race as much as a test of endurance and stamina. He paddled the 26 mile crossing in 5 hours and 53 minutes. Jodie and Jen completed 40 miles of the crossing on SUP in 9 hours and 20 minutes.

Tom Blake would be proud of you gals.
